What is ads.txt?

The ads.txt file is an IAB Tech Lab project built to combat inventory fraud and increase transparency in the digital advertising industry. the idea is simple; publishers place a file on their server that specifies exactly which companies they sell their resources through.

The file lists the partners by ID but also lists the publisher's account ID. it could be the same identifier that buyers (advertisers) see when requesting a bid.

Why should you use ads.txt?

The Ads.txt file helps you protect your website from fraudulent inventory that is intentionally confused as originating from a specific domain.

In other words - using the ads.txt file will cost you more advertisers who would otherwise have gone into the fraudulent list.
